Vikki’s Musings

I looked forward to reading The Airman’s E-Mail Bride for some time. I thoroughly enjoyed the other three books in the Heroes of Chance Creek series tremendously. This book is a fantastic ending to this entertaining series.

There is no doubt Cora Seton is a wonderful storyteller. This tale of second chance romance is an excellent example of her abilities. Her pacing is fast without feeling rushed. Her characters are believable and so is the plot. Her dialogue zings, pulling me into the story from the first page.

I fell in love with Colt. He is an awesome hero. His remorse and guilt over his last conversation with his late father jumps off the page and sent an arrow to my heart. It is impossible to not love a man, who has served his country with honor and bravery. I love the tenderness he shows with Heather, and not only during the love scenes. Even though he received a shock that would send many men running, he is able to see Heather’s reasons for never contacting him when she realized she was going to have his child. He handles missing the first thirteen years of his son’s life extremely well.

Heather is a great heroine. She is a strong, independent character with plenty of backbone; on top of that, she is raising her son to be a great kid, and even owns a prosperous home décor business. I loved her sexual banner when she answers Colt’s e-mail. Most women would not have handled the situation with the fake fiancée nearly as well.

One of the things I liked best about The Airman’s E-Mail Bride is the chance to find out what is happening to the other characters in this series and her cowboy series set in Chance Creek. After reading so many books with the Chance Creek characters, they almost feel like family. Her ability to show realistic family dynamics is another reason I love her books.

While this book is light-hearted, it packs a lot of emotion and touches on real life situations that many people experience.  I highly recommend this great book and all the other books in this series. I feel confident that you will enjoy them as much as I have. Ms. Seton also has another series coming soon with SEALs and cowboys. I don’t know about you, but pairing hot military men with even hotter cowboys is a winning combination for me. Happy reading!
