The final book in the wickedly seductive new Scottish historical romance trilogy from New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Enoch, Hit Me With Your Best Scot!

The MacTaggert brothers have one task:
Find English brides or lose their land!

Coll MacTaggert, Viscount Glendarril, is a big, brawny Highlander who doesn’t like being told what to do—not even by his exasperated English mother who is determined to see her eldest son wedded and bedded. However, when he comes to the rescue of an irresistibly beautiful woman, Coll discovers that he may have found his perfect match…

The challenge isn’t that Persephone Jones is famous, wealthy, independent, and smarter than anyone he knows. The problem is that she isn't interested in marrying any man—especially not a hot-headed Scot—even if he is the only man who seems to understand who she really is even when she’s not sure herself. When Coll learns that Persephone is actually a lady-in-hiding and someone is willing to kill her for what she stands to inherit…Well, Coll has never been one to turn down a fight. When hearts are involved, nothing comes between a Highlander and his lady.

Vikki’s Musings

Thanks go to the publisher and Net-Galley for the complimentary electronic copy of Hit me with Your Best Scot by Suzanne Enoch. A delightful Regency romance. I voluntarily agreed to read and review this delightful Regency novel. My opinions are my own, and nothing has influenced my rating of this book.

Hit me with Your Best Scot is a well-written romantic tale set in Regency London with compelling characters and a satisfying plot. The pacing pulled me into the story from the first page to the last. Ms. Enoch does a fine job of giving me enough description to become enmeshed in the glittering society of this period.

Persephone Jones is the heroine of this romance, and she has plenty of grit which has helped her thrive in the theatre world of Drury Lane. She holds her secrets tight and doesn’t give many clues to them. I found her fascinating and enjoyed her character a great deal. She’s definitely a woman ahead of her time, but life has made her that way.

Coll MacTaggert, Viscount Glenarril is a fantastic hero who only wants to do the right thing for the people of his clan, dependent on him. He’s come to London to satisfy his mother who has tied up much needs funds for the clan. She’s demanded he take a bride, and if he doesn’t find one soon it will have dreadful consequences. When he meets Persephone, he is entranced, and it was clear where the story would lead. After all, it’s romance, so that predictability did not take away from my reading enjoyment.

The romance between Persephone and Coll is combustible from their first meeting. While I loved this, the romance does develop between them at lightning speed, so while I did enjoy their love story, I would have preferred it to develop over a longer period of time to make it more believable. I also would have enjoyed a bit more sexual tension between the main characters, which Regency romances are so well known for, and this is the only reason I did not give this novel a top rating.

If you enjoy Regency romances with characters that will take you on a sensual romp between the sheets and has an intricately woven plot, then you will love Hit me with Your Best Scot. There’s plenty going on in this tale to love. It’s been some time since I’ve read one of Ms. Enoch’s books, and I’m glad I accepted the invitation from the publisher. I will look at the other two books in this series, since this one is the conclusion, and I found the other two MacTaggert brothers and their lady loves intriguing. Happy reading!

Author Bio:

A lifelong lover of books, Suzanne Enoch has been writing them since she learned to read. She is the author of two well-received traditional Regencies, 24 and counting England-set Historical Romances, four contemporary Romantic Suspense novels, and a growing number of Scottish Highlands Historical Romances including the October 2016 release of HERO IN THE HIGHLANDS (Book One in the No Ordinary Hero trilogy).

A native and current resident of Southern California, Suzanne lives with a green parakeet named Kermit, some very chirpy finches, and a small army of Star Wars figures (including a life-size Yoda). Her books regularly appear on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists, and when she's not busily working on her next book or staging fights with action figures, she likes to read, play video games, and go to the movies with her large and supportive village.
