Awakening His Shy Cinderella is a lovely romance with engaging characters and a heartfelt plot. The pacing pulled me in from the first page to the last. This is a Cinderella troupe with a waif character who finds her steel!
Rachel is our heroine, and in the beginning she’s unable to see her worth because of her vicious stepsisters and stepmother. Even her father doesn’t care for her, but when an opportunity comes her way to utilize her amazing talents, she comes alive. She finds her inner strength to take on her family.
Damon is the hero, and of course, he’s gorgeous, and a truly good guy. At first he wants Rachel for her incredible skills, but as he spends time with her, he realizes her true worth and wants to win her heart.
The romance between Rachel and Damon brings growth to both characters, and I enjoyed reading about their transformation. The chemistry between them is easily apparent from the beginning, so I really wanted them to find their happy ending.
If you enjoy contemporary romances with characters that show tremendous growth and an interesting plot then you will love Awakening His Shy Cinderella. This is the first book I’ve read by Ms. Pembroke, and I will be looking for other novels by her. Happy reading!
