Vikki’s Musings

Save Your Breath is Book 6 in Melinda Leigh’s amazing Morgan Dane series, and the final installment. I have enjoyed this series immensely, so when I received an invitation from the publisher, via Net-Galley, I immediately accepted. My opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.

Sigh, I will miss Morgan Dane and Lance Kruger! They are fantastic characters that have earned my respect and admiration. What an incredible duo! Melinda Leigh’s ability to write suspenseful scenes that have me sitting on the edge of my seat never ceases to amaze me. Her cutting-edge writing is swift, her dialogue is sharp. It grabs me from the first page and holds in its thrall until the last.

Morgan Dane is an ex-prosecutor, turned defense attorney. Her office is in the same building that houses the Private Investigating firm of Sharp and Lance Kruger. Her character is bold and fearless, yet she’s a loving granddaughter and mother of three adorable little girls. Her ability to focus on her career while raising her children is admirable. I’ve enjoyed watching her fall in love with Lance.

In Save Your Breath, she’s weeks away from their wedding, when their fellow colleague’s love interest disappears under suspicious circumstances. Morgan and Lance immediately offer their expertise to Sharp. Thus, begins the new exciting adventure that will tax even their amazing skills as investigators. Will they find Olivia in time, or will they fail for the first time?

Lance Kruger is an awesome hero, and a great partner for Morgan. I’ve seen their romance grow steadily throughout this series. He’s a tender soul who loves to play the piano and sings. He relishes the time he spends with Morgan’s three little girls. He respects Morgan’s need to be an independent woman and doesn’t try to hold her back, even when she’s facing danger. Instead, he stands at her side, ready to lend her a hand. His love for her is immense.

If you enjoy a romantic thriller that will leave you breathless and wanting more, then you will love Save Your Breath. While this novel can be read as a stand-alone, I suggest you read the other books in this fantastic series. You won’t regret it. If you subscribe to Kindle Unlimited, all the books are available, and you can read and listen for free. Happy reading!
