Vikki’s Musings
I have read the other books in this series. When I received
an invitation from the publisher to read Be Mine in Good Hope and leave a
review with my thoughts, I eagerly accepted. This is another great book for
this series.
Marigold Bloom loses her job with a high-end hair salon in
Chicago and is back in Good Hope until she can find a position like the one she
has lost. The last thing she wants is a romantic entanglement with anyone, but
she does not count on the sparks that ignite between her and the sheriff.
Cade Rallis grew up in big cities and now he’s perfectly
content with his life as a small-town Sheriff. His days are easy, and he is
growing to love the people more each day. His focus should be on the upcoming
election that will secure his position in Good Hope, but instead he finds
himself in what will be a short-term affair with Marigold. He quickly realizes
he wants her in his life permanently.
Can he convince her that she can still have a bright future
as a hairstylist, even in a small town, or will the draw of working in Los
Angeles in the movie industry take her away from him?
I thoroughly enjoyed Be Mine in Good Hope. The plot is
interesting and the cast of characters, old and new are delightful. The pacing
is steady and the book is well-written with a good level of emotion.
Marigold is a mixed bag for me. I liked her, but I never
truly fell in love with her. Her character frustrated me on several levels. I
did love her relationship with her sisters and her dad. That is what kept me
vested. I do think she lets issues from her past color her views on what she
wants out of life to the extreme.
Cade’s character had me from the first page. Just loved this
guy. He’s so down-to-earth and just a truly likable person. I loved how he
rationalizes his relationship with Marigold and really wanted him to get the
girl.
If you enjoy romances set in a small-town atmosphere with
engaging characters and a bit of humor splashed in, then you will want to check
this one out. I’m enjoying this series, and I’m confident you will as well.
Happy reading!
