BUT MAYBE THEIR PASSION CAN...

Miranda Sutton always dreamed of making films, until wild mustangs captured her heart. But turning her grandmother's Montana ranch into a wild horse sanctuary proves harder than she thought. She needs someone who knows wild horses. Keith and the mustangs need each other. And while working together to save the herd, Keith and Miranda discover a passion as wild as the mustangs they love.

Vikki’s Musings

I’ve been a fan of Victoria Vane’s for several years, and I loved the other books in her Hot Cowboy Nights series, so when I received an invitation from the publisher, via Net-Galley, to read Saddle Up in exchange for an honest review, I accepted without hesitation. This is another excellent addition to this great series.

Miranda Sutton is on an assignment to film the talented Horse Whisperer, Keith Russo, also known as Two Wolves, in action. When her film is released, it has devastating consequences for Keith and decimates his career.

A year later, Keith is trying to find his place in his grandfather’s world without any success. He receives a call from BLM, an organization rounding up wild mustangs and saving them by finding homes for them. Although Keith doesn’t believe in the program, he is tired of digging holes for fence posts on his cousin’s ranch, so he agrees to sign on as a wrangler.

He arrives to find out BLM has asked Miranda Sutton to film a documentary of the gather to help promote their organization. When passion flames between the pair, can he put aside his resentment, or will he allow it to ruin their budding romance?

Saddle Up is a fast-paced story with a unique plot and interesting characters. As with Victoria Vane’s other books, this one is well-written, and I’m amazed at the amount of research Ms. Vane must have done to write it. The story of the fate of wild mustangs pulled at my heart-strings. I’ve always had a soft spot for horses even though I’ve never spent much time with them. I think horses are some of the most beautiful and graceful animals on earth.

I enjoyed the complex relationship between Miranda and Keith. They are both struggling to find their place in this world while seeing where their attraction will lead them. Fortunately, they find their way and find what they both need together. After all, this is romance!

Now for the reason, I did not give this book 5 Gold Crowns. I felt that the ending was rushed. I cannot go into detail because I do not want to include any spoilers. I just feel that Ms. Vane missed an opportunity to pull at my heart in the epilogue.

If you enjoy a story with a hot cowboy and a determined and feisty heroine, then you will like Saddle Up. While this is the fourth book of her Hot Cowboy Nights series, it is not necessary to read them in order. Happy reading!
